Hamad Medical Corporation is a premier non-profit health care provider in Doha, Qatar. Established by Emiri decree in 1979, the Corporation manages four highly specialized hospitals: Hamad General Hospital, Rumailah Hospital, Women’s Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital and the Primary Health Care Centers.
Through the years, Hamad Medical Corporation has fulfilled its mandate of providing the best quality care for all patients irrespective of nationality, and played its role in providing “Health For All” as pledged by the State of Qatar.
Since its establishment in October 1979, HMC has rapidly developed highly specialized medical facilities capable of providing state of the art diagnosis and treatment of diseases that previously could only be managed medical centers.

Hamad Medical City
Following the Asian Games the site that housed 10,000 athletes from 40 countries will become the Hamad Medical City bringing world-class health care to Qatar. New hospital facilities for Children, Orthopedics, Physical Medicine, Dialysis Centre, Day Surgery, a Trauma Centre and a Nursing Home will be completed on the campus totaling approximately 1000 beds. A Nurses Hostel and Married Staff accommodation will be located in the north of the campus. The Ministry of Public Health will face Al Istiqlal Street and the Corniche beyond. Staff recreational facilities, shared services, two mosques and ample parking for staff and public will complete the development.
